Contribute/Join Friends of Amelia Island Trail

How do I Contribute/Join Friends of the Amelia Island Trail?

“Associates” at all levels will receive written acknowledgement of their contribution and an “Associates” identification card.  TRAIL ADVOCATES will also receive a special Certificate of Appreciation.   We welcome contributions by Corporate and Business Sponsors who will also receive written acknowledgement and offered an opportunity to be recognized in our community in various ways.  Please contact us if your company would like to help support our programs.

How will my contribution be used?

One hundred percent of your cash contribution will be used to improve or maintain the Amelia Island Trail.  Our focus is very sharp and we have specific projects in mind.  Upon request we can pair your contribution with a specific project.  For example, if you would like to fund a bicycle rack with your contribution, we can do that.  We operate this organization with unpaid volunteers and will not use any of your contributions for salaries.  Copies of our Articles of Incorporation and By-Laws are appended to this web site.

How do I contribute to Friends of the Amelia Island Trail?

You may make a contribution by mailing your check to Friends of the Amelia Island Trail, Inc., POBox 16113, Fernandina Beach, FL., 32035.  Please provide basic contact information (Name, mailing address, e-mail address, phone number).  If you would like to make other arrangements for your contribution (for example, donate stock or securities), or have questions, please contact us.

What if I want to donate materials or volunteer to help?

Contributions in-kind such as building material for trailside kiosks, benches, signage, maintenance equipment, etc., are also needed and welcome  We will also need volunteers to help maintain the trail, perform support tasks, help organize events, patrol the trail, etc.(more on this later).  Please contact us if you would like to donate materials or equipment, or become a volunteer.

Will my contribution be deductible on my federal tax return?

Your contribution can become a “Brilliant Deduction”!  Friends of the Amelia Island Trail, Inc. is a registered non-profit corporation in the state of Florida.  As a 501 (c) (3) organization, it is considered a public charity by the IRS.  Depending on how you file your federal tax return your contribution may be tax-deductible.  A copy of the IRS Determination Letter is included in this web site.  We welcome cash contributions and contributions in-kind, and we will provide an acknowledgement letter for your records.
